Breathing Together. Nowhere to be.
Helping others slow down, breathe, and come home to themselves.
Welcome everyone :)
My name is Diana Miller. I have spent the last 2 decades as a professional abstract artist and serial house-mover. Creativity has always been my form of expression — making and selling art long before breathwork entered the picture.
I had my first experiences with the breath in Kundalini breath and yoga classes after relocating to the Northern Rivers, NSW in 2015. When my local gym started offering breath classes I attended those religiously. The teacher, Joey Hurl, is who I later trained with and qualified through (Sõmsana Breathwork) to become a breath facilitator myself. I had no idea how transformative the breath could be until I went through the practices myself, experiencing the release of heart-wrenching sorrow, and soaring to the greatest heights of ecstatic bliss. Breath has been the modality that has had the greatest impact on my psyche, my nervous system, my happiness and my ability to find complete peace within myself.
I have had a long struggle with my ability to express myself through my voice, so the thought of being a breath coach and speaking to a group was never something I’d thought of as a possibility. But then something called me to the training and through that process I found my voice, I found that I could do it and that in facing my biggest fears I have been called to do something that now brings me so much joy as I guide others to feel safe and nurtured in their own bodies too.
My dream is to one day run art workshops that weave the breath through the creative process. For now, I’ve started with community-focused breath classes — slow, restorative sessions designed to nurture and calm the nervous system. I am showing up not as an expert with decades behind me but as someone with an embodied knowledge of what the breath can do, and a first-hand understanding of what it feels like to come home to yourself.
I started The Slow Studio because I wanted to create a space where people could stop giving and doing, and simply be — to receive, to find calm, safety and acceptance in their own bodies and hearts, together, in community.
Why The Breath
The breath is an autonomic function — it runs on its own — but it's also one of the only bodily functions we can consciously control. The moment we choose to pay attention to it, we can take the wheel and use it to help us soothe, release and heal. Breathing slowly and with intention sends a message to the nervous system that it's safe to soften: heart rate drops, tension eases, clarity returns.
It's not complicated, and it's not something you need to get ‘right’. This is simply about showing up, and breathing together.
Community Coherence — Wednesday Evening
Once a week, we meet as a community to do nothing but breathe.
Community Coherence is a slow, guided breathwork session built around coherence breathing — a simple, steady rhythm that brings the heart, breath and nervous system into balance. A space to join others as we put down our to-do-lists, drop the mental load, and connect through our breath. 45 minutes to put down what you've been carrying, and breathe alongside others doing the same.
It's called Community Coherence because something different happens when we do this together rather than alone — a room full of people breathing with intention becomes its own quiet, calming presence. In a world that pulls us toward isolation and screens, it's a small, weekly act of coming back to each other.
